Balderson United Church

The original Presbyterian settlers met in each other’s homes. The first church, constructed in 1838, was replaced by the present blue limestone edifice in 1908.

First Baptist Church (L) Scottish pioneers first built this church in 1902 as the Zion Congregationalist Church. In 1954, when their church was destroyed by fire, the Baptists bought the building from St. Andrew’s United.

Prestonvale United Church

Built in 1866, this Methodist Church became United in 1925. It was closed in 1959 but is open for various special services. Much loved by its volunteers.

Sacred Heart RC Church (Lanark)

Constructed in 1903 of limestone drawn by each parish family from a local quarry, it also received support from fellow parishioners of St Patrick’s, Ferguson’s Falls.

 

St. Andrew’s United (Watson’s Corners)

This structure was built in 1894 by the Zion Presbyterian Church which amalgamated in 1965 with St. James and Playfairville to form the present St. Andrew’s United.

 

St. Andrew’s United (Lanark)

The original church was built in 1822. The present edifice was built in 1860, the spacious hall added in 1964. It hosts the Lanark Food Bank, Christmas Box program, Seniors exercise etc

 

St. Columbkill RC Church (McDonalds Corners)

Built in 1893 as a mission church of St. Mary’s in Carleton Place, this charming church is now a Mission of Sacred Heart Church in Lanark. 

 

St. Patrick’s RC Church (Ferguson’s Falls)

The present building, constructed in 1856, was one of the earliest Roman Catholic Missions in Ontario.  Participating on Saturday only.

 

Temple’s Sugar Camp

Trinity United Church (Hopetown)

Built in 1899 as St. John’s Presbyterian, it became the United Church in 1925. A log Methodist Church had been on the site of the current cemetery.

 

Trinity United Church (Middleville)

Built in 1860 by the Presbyterian congregation. Down the street are the former 1844 Congregational and 1866 Baptist churches. You are invited to a Fall Supper served on Sunday, Oct 14th from 4:00-6:30 p.m.
